    Privacy Policy

    Effective Date: September 9, 2026

At Work Leave Care ("we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of the information you provide through our website and services. We understand the sensitive nature of mental health information and strive to safeguard your personal information in accordance with applicable federal and California laws.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

    Information We Collect

When you submit information through our website, contact forms, intake forms, scheduling systems, or other online services, we may collect:

    • Name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Mailing address
    • Date of birth
    • Information related to your inquiry or requested services
    • Information you voluntarily provide regarding your mental health concerns or work-related difficulties
    • Payment information through secure third-party payment processors
    • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, and website usage information

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide our services and operate our business.

    How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

    • Respond to inquiries and appointment requests
    • Schedule and manage appointments
    • Provide psychological and consultation services
    • Determine whether our services may be appropriate for your needs
    • Process payments
    • Communicate regarding services, appointments, and administrative matters
    • Improve our website and user experience
    • Comply with legal, ethical, licensing, and regulatory obligations
    • Protect the security and integrity of our systems

We do not sell your personal information.

    Protected Health Information (PHI)

If you become a client of Work Leave Care, information collected during the course of treatment may constitute Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The use and disclosure of Protected Health Information are governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided to clients as required by law.

Submitting information through our website does not automatically establish a psychologist-patient relationship.

    Website Forms and Electronic Communications

Information submitted through website forms, email, text messages, or other electronic communications may not always be fully secure during transmission.

Please avoid sending highly sensitive medical, psychological, or confidential information through unsecured communication methods unless specifically instructed to do so through a secure platform.

    Security of Information

We implement reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

While we take reasonable precautions to protect information, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

    Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-HMDWRK4NW7) in a deliberately limited, optional way. It is currently enabled on only two general company pages: the About page and this Privacy Policy page.

Analytics is off by default. No request of any kind is sent to Google — including cookieless requests — unless you affirmatively choose "Allow" on the optional analytics notice shown on those two pages. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, analytics stays off and no notice is shown.

If you allow analytics, the only thing we send is a single page view containing:

    • A fixed page address and page title for the About or Privacy Policy page
    • An empty referring page value

We do not send query strings, URL fragments, UTM or campaign parameters, form entries, button or interaction events, user IDs, logins, or any information you type. The analytics code is not loaded on the homepage, services, why choose us, how it works, guides, contact, referral, screener, intake, scheduling, payment, authenticated, or any other pages, and it is fully unloaded when you navigate away from the two allowlisted pages.

We do not set Google Analytics cookies; analytics storage on your device is disabled, so no persistent analytics identifier is stored by us. Google still receives standard information sent with any web request, including your IP address, browser and device information, and a temporary session identifier generated in memory, and Google processes that data as a service provider under its own terms. Advertising features, Google signals, ad personalization, and data sharing with other Google products are disabled for this property.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can install Google's browser opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Declining or withdrawing is as easy as allowing. Use the control below at any time; turning analytics off stops it immediately.

Your current choice: Analytics is off until you choose to allow it.

Analytics is separate from clinical care. Allowing analytics is not consent to share health information, and we do not send any health, clinical, or intake information to Google. This limited analytics setup is not a statement of HIPAA compliance for Google Analytics, and we intentionally keep it away from every clinical, intake, scheduling, and payment page. Most web browsers also allow you to control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

    Third-Party Services

We may utilize third-party service providers for website hosting, scheduling, payment processing, electronic communication, analytics, telehealth services, or secure recordkeeping.

These providers may have access to information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are expected to maintain appropriate safeguards when required by law.

    Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of websites that we do not own or control.

We encourage users to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites they visit.

    Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

    We may disclose information when:

    • Required by law
    • Required by court order, subpoena, or legal process
    • Necessary to protect the safety of a client or others
    • Permitted or required under HIPAA and applicable California law
    • Necessary to protect our legal rights or respond to claims

    California Privacy Rights

California residents may have rights regarding personal information collected by businesses under applicable California law.

To inquire about information we maintain about you, request corrections, or ask questions regarding your privacy rights, please contact us using the information provided below.

Certain healthcare information may be governed by HIPAA or other laws that supersede portions of California privacy statutes.

    Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our website without appropriate parental consent when required by law.

    Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Work Leave Care is an independent California telehealth psychological practice. Clinical services are led by Dr. Jonathan Kim, PsyD, California Licensed Psychologist (License #36891). We provide evaluation, treatment, and — when clinically appropriate — documentation support. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the California Employment Development Department (EDD) or any other government agency. EDD independently determines benefit eligibility, and we cannot guarantee claim approval, benefit amounts, or job protection. The educational content on this website is general information only — it is not individualized medical or psychological advice and is not a crisis service. Individualized clinical recommendations are made only through an established clinical relationship and a professional evaluation. Work Leave Care does not provide legal advice.

Optional analytics: may we count a single anonymous page visit on this page and our Privacy Policy page? Nothing is collected unless you allow it, and you can change your choice at any time.
